Each year, more than 440,000 children experience foster care in the United States. In Nebraska alone there are around 5,000 youth who find themselves in a position of needing a foster family. They range from infants to 18 years old. Children are removed from their home and placed into care for a number of reasons including abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Often they are placed in the foster care system with only the clothes on their back. Removal from their homes can lead to trauma, embarrassment, and feelings of insecurity.
Foster Love was meant for these children who have been uprooted from their homes and are under difficult circumstances. We want to support them by providing them with high quality basic needs that nurture dignity in a welcoming and loving space where they feel confident and comfortable.
These children are all over Nebraska and in our communities. Schools. Churches. Neighborhoods. Teams. They are part of our very own families. We owe it to these children to show up for them in their time of great need.
THAT’S WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO!
Starting January 1, 2021 we are offering...
New Placement Care Packages.
Shopping Days on specified dates and by appointment only. Stay tuned for our next event.
We provide foster families who welcome new children into their home with care packages which include a few outfits, undergarments, and socks along with a little hope and joy in a time of uncertainty. We also provide packages for children who have urgent clothing needs.
Please fill out the registration form as best you can. If you have more than one child please fill out and submit multiple forms. We will fill care packages on Tuesdays and Fridays and have them available for pickup. Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who showed up for our first shopping event on January 23 and 24. We had so much fun!
